Huddersfield Town welcome relegation threatened Blackburn Rovers to the near sold-out John Smith’s stadium as they look to close out 2016 with a win.
Mark Hudson and Joe Lolley will both be available for the Terriers after the pair returned to training last week. Despite that, David Wagner will be without Jonathan Hogg and Sean Scannell who miss today’s game with injuries.
Goalkeeper Danny Ward missed his team’s 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest through illness last Monday, but the 23-year-old is expected to make his return today.
Huddersfield are in sensational form and will be looking for their fifth win in five league games (2-1 win over Norwich). A victory over Blackburn today, will push the Terriers up the Championship table into 3rd; above Leeds and Reading.
With Owen Coyle’s side in the relegation zone following four successive defeats, it is no surprise that the home side are the overwhelming favorites.
Jason Lowe and Darragh Lenihan are both suspended for Blackburn and will miss the trip to West Yorkshire. They will join Elliott Ward, Tommie Hoban, Adam Henley and Danny Guthrie on what is proving to be a long list of absentees for Blackburn.
The atmosphere at the John Smith’s stadium is expected to be electric as over 20,000 tickets have been sold for today’s game. Kick off 12:30.
