Leeds United moved up to fourth in the Championship after picking up an impressive 2-0 win over Aston Villa.

Kemar Roofe opened the scoring for the hosts after 68 minutes.

The 23-year-old latched on to an inch perfect cross from Souleymane Doukara and guided his header past the out-rushing goalie.

As the game entered stoppage time, Chris Wood sealed the win when he finished off Hadi Sacko’s initial effort.

Garry Monk’s side have now won five from their last six league games and are enjoying their best form in years.


Blackburn Rovers   1-1   Huddersfield Town

Graham (pen) 34 ; Palmer 6

Huddersfield Town put an end to their two game losing streak following a one-all draw at Ewood Park.

The visitors got off to a lightening start and took the lead early through Kasey Palmer.

Half an hour later Michael Hefele fouled Sam Gallagher in the area. Danny Graham stepped up and converted the penalty to level the game.

The Terriers created a number of opportunities but failed to make them count.

David Wagner’s side now fall to eighth in the table after picking up just one win from their last eight games.


Guiseley   1-1   Chester FC

Walton (pen) 52 ; Alabi  29

Guiseley AFC remain in the relegation zone after rescuing a draw against Chester.

An acrobatic effort by James Alabi put the visitors in front at Nethermoor.

Guiseley responded well and earned a penalty early on in the second half. Simon Walton converted the spot kick to the delight of the home crowd.

Adam Lockwood’s side stay 22nd in the Vanarama National League and remain only three points from safety.
