aside Wood and Johnson depart Giants

Huddersfield Giants will go into the 2017 Super League season without Kyle Wood and Josh Johnson.

Johnson’s departure comes after he turned down a new contract with the club. The 22-year-old made 35 appearances for the Giants but has now decided to pursue his career elsewhere.

Meanwhile, Kyle Wood has been offered an opportunity away from Huddersfield and the 27-year-old has decided to take it.

There has been no official confirmation regarding his next club however, many believe that a move to Leeds Rhinos is imminent.

The Giants will be looking improve on last year’s campaign, which saw the club fight for their Super League survival in the Qualifiers.
