A shocking start by the Giants led to their second loss in the Qualifiers. Huddersfield now sit 3rd in the middle 8s and need to win their remaining two games to avoid the Million Pound game.
Greg Worthington put Leigh in front after scoring in the second minute. Huddersfield were stunned and Leigh took full advantage as Matty Dawson scored a first half hat-trick .
The Giants responded through Michael Lawrence and Aaron Murphy but Leigh continued to frustrate the visitors with three more tries from Martyn Ridyard, Corey Paterson and Mitch Brown.
With 30 minutes to go Jake Connor went over for the Giants as the visitors went on the offensive. Leroy Cudjoe and Jaime Ellis scored two tries each to set up a thrilling finish.
