Leeds United will host Huddersfield Town this Saturday at Elland Road in the Championship’s West Yorkshire derby.
All the pressure is on Leeds going into this match. They currently sit 21st in the Championship and former head coach Steve Evans stated this week that he believes a loss against Huddersfield could cost current head coach Garry Monk his job.
Huddersfield meanwhile have enjoyed a fantastic start to this campaign, and currently lead the league, undefeated in their first five games of the season.
Leeds are looking short in defence, after the departure of captain Sol Bamba has left them with only three first team centre backs available.
Monk is being urged to give Swedish centre back Pontus Jansson his debut on Saturday, who joined the club on loan from Italian Serie A side Torino. He spoke out this week of his desperation to make his Leeds debut and to help the club achieve promotion back to the Premier League, where they have been absent since 2004.
David Wagner believes his Huddersfield side has every reason to be confident of picking up three points against Leeds, and his side are favourites with the bookies to do just that.
Premier League referee Roger East will be taking charge of the match.
KO: 3pm, Elland Road.
