Guiseley picked up their first point of the season this afternoon, with a 0-0 draw against Braintree Town at Nethermoor.
It was a match of very few chances for both sides. Guiseley dominated the first half but struggled to penetrate a solid Braintree defence.
Their best chances of the match fell to Jordan Preston, firing a shot just wide of the left hand post on the 20th minute. He went close again on the 35th minute, a low powerful strike sending the ball skidding across the surface only to be denied by the post.
Despite an improved second half performance, Braintree struggled to impose themselves on the Guiseley defence, their only attempt coming in the 84th minute, Harry Lee firing the ball over from long range.
Guiseley will feel this is a match they could of won, however they will be pleased to pick up their first point of the season. The Lions remain bottom of the National League and Braintree remain 21st, just inside the drop zone.
