Huddersfield made a bright start and took the lead after just 6 minutes when Rajiv van La Parra fired them in front. The Dutchman capitalised on a rebound when Nakhi Wells’ initial shot hit the post.

Wolves fought back and even hit the woodwork as they tried to salvage a point. Jon Dadi Bodvarsson had one of the best goal scoring opportunities for Wolves however, his header was well saved by the Huddersfield keeper, Danny Ward.

David Wagner’s side held on for the win which sees them top the Championship table by two points.

Huddersfield’s recent good form was telling as over 19,000 packed into the John Smith’s stadium to watch today’s game.

Leeds Outclassed By Forest

Leeds United suffered their third loss of the season as they were beaten 3-1 by Nottingham Forest.

Pajtim Kasami opened the scoring as Leeds went into half-time 1-0 down. Damien Perquis doubled Nottingham’s lead after the break before Kalvin Phillips gave Leeds hope with a stunning goal from a free kick.

As Leeds looked for the equaliser, Nottingham killed the game off in stoppage time with Oliver Burke scoring the third goal for the hosts.

Gary Monk’s side were very quiet for the majority of the game and only came to life when Phillips scored with a brilliant free kick. The goal gave Leeds a much needed boost and the visitors could have gone level through Marcus Antonsson, who forced a great save from the keeper.

With only one win from five games, Leeds currently occupy the 21st place in the Championship. Next up for the Whites is a derby game with league leaders Huddersfield.
