New signing Pontus Jansson could make his Leeds debut today as the Whites travel to Hillsborough for a Yorkshire derby.
The pressure is mounting on the new manager Gary Monk, with his side only managing a point in their last three games. Tuesday’s draw to Fulham might have been an improvement however, reports were still circulating that Monk is heading closer and closer to the exit door.
Despite all of the negativity, Monk could give a debut start to his new signing, Pontus Jansson. The Swedish defender joined the club on a season long loan from the Italian side Torino and will be looking to make an impact in today’s Yorkshire derby.
Midfielder, Liam Bridcutt, is also in contention to play his first game for Leeds since being re-singed from Sunderland.
One man who won’t be in contention is defender Gaetano Berardi who misses another game with a hamstring injury.
Sheffield Wednesday will have David Jones available for this game following his move from Burnley last Tuesday.
Former Leeds centre-back, Tom Lees, could make an appearance after recovering from his foot injury however, Jose Semedo is not likely to feature due to his hamstring problem.
Carlos Carvalhal’s side got off to a mixed start this season. A big 1-0 win over Aston Villa was then followed by a 2-1 defeat to Cambridge in the EFL Cup, a 0-0 draw with Norwich and a 3-1 defeat to newly promoted Burton Albion.
The game kicks off at 12:30 and you can listen to live commentary on BBC Radio Leeds.
