Nicola Adams has retained her Olympic title after winning a unanimous points decision over Sarah Ourahmoune.
The 33 year old made history at London 2012 when she became the first woman ever to win an Olympic gold medal in Boxing. Only four years later and Nicola Adams has made history again.
Following a hard fought battle against France’s Sarah Ourahmoune, Adams won the unanimous decision to become the first British boxer to defend an Olympic title for 92 years.
The Leeds born boxer got off to a very strong start in the flyweight final and clearly won the first two rounds.
Her French opponent responded well and won the third round to set up an interesting finale. Ourahmoune fought hard but was unable to convince the judges who ultimately gave the fight to Adams.
Her latest win not only stamps her name in the record books but it also cements her legacy as one of the greatest female boxers. Now that she has won pretty much every accolade imaginable, what’s next for Nicola Adams?
