Gary Monk picked up his first three points as the Leeds United manager following a 2-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.
New signing Marcus Antonsson scored the first goal after 63 minutes when the Whites opened up the hosts with a good counter attacking move.
With 5 minutes left, Chris Wood doubled the lead and clinched the three points after his close range finish found the back of the net.
The Owls had the better chances in the opening 45 minutes but lacked the finishing touch. They also had two good opportunities to equalize only for Rob Green to make a couple of top drawer saves.
The win will certainly take some pressure off Gary Monk’s shoulders who can now breathe and prepare for the next game.
For Leeds this is a huge win and a much needed confidence booster as the Whites look to get back on track.
