David Willey and Travis Head took Yorkshire to 63-3 before half centuries from Alex Lees and Jack Leaning put the visitors in a dominant position.
Northamptonshire took the bat needing 178 runs to win. They got off to the worst possible start losing Josh Cobb in the first over. Not long after that, Adam Rossington was forced to walk after scoring just one run.
A score of 41 for Duckett and a half century by Wakely gave the home side some hope however, that was quickly extinguished thanks to Tim Bresnan and his two wickets in the final over.
Northamptonshire run out of overs and ultimately fell 14 runs short of the winning total. The win secures Yorkshires spot in the quarter-finals and they can now look forward to playing Glamorgan.
