Since capturing the WBC International title last year, the First Direct Arena in Leeds has become somewhat of a fortress for Josh Warrington.

Thousands of local supporters turn out to cheer on the Leeds-born fighter and the same is expected this Saturday when the 25 year old puts his title on the line against Patrick Hyland.

Warrington is yet to be defeated and is heading into Saturday with a perfect professional record of 23-0 (4 wins by KO).

Despite suffering two defeat, Patrick Hyland is likely to be a tough challenger. The 32 year old is coming into this fight on the back of a 2nd round loss to Gary Russell Jr, which was for the WBC Featherweight title.

Hyland’s professional record currently stands at 31-2 (15 wins by KO). He is a vastly experienced fighter and many argue that he is the right opponent for Warrington at this stage of his career.

Warrington has been hailed as a future World champion and a win over Hyland will certainly put him a step closer towards that goal. The Leeds Warrior and his team have had their sights on the current IBF champion, Lee Selby, for many months and a potential future clash at Elland Road might be on the cards.
